I went to Zip Zap Circus School in Cape Town for a Talent Monday Insert on an Aerial Silk Act. I Interviewed a talented Circus Performer, Xolani. He performed his Silk Act for the first time during the Dancers Love Dogs show at Artscape Theatre in Cape Town and had the audience awed for more! Xolani has come a far way since he joined Zip Zap Circus School. He shared his passion with us.

I went to Gugulethu in Cape Town for a Talent Monday Insert on Pantsula Dancing. I Interviewed a talented Pantsula Dancer, Hloni, from Gugulethu Stars. I caught up with Gugulethu Stars during a training session presented Mr. by Duncan Maphanga. Hloni shared her passion with us.

I Interviewed the talented Trapeze Artist, Saskia , from Zip Zap Circus School. She shared her passion with us while training for the 25 Live show that will take place at Artscape Theatre in Cape Town. The show will be in collaboration with the Parlotones to celebrate the 25th year of Zip Zap Circus School.

The highlight of Artscape’s Youth Month Program, is the YOUTH JAZZ FESTIVAL, where Cape Town’s young budding jazz musicians will get a chance to show off their skills…
Launched by Artscape in 2003, the project is aimed at skills development while the festival is the culmination of a 10-week training programme where young jazz musicians get the chance to be mentored by some of the City’s best, Amanda Tiffin (Musical Director), Camillo Lombard, Shaun Johannes, Marc de Kock and Frank Paco.
I joined a practice session and the Final Rehearsal before their performance at Artscape Theatre.

In Talent Monday we feature Phelelani AKA Remember from Zip Zap Circus School in Cape Town with his Strap Act. He showcases his performance during “25 LIVE: A night at the circus”; a show at Artscape Theatre in Cape Town. The show was a live collaboration between Zip Zap Circus School and The Parlotones in celebration of Zip Zap’s 25th birthday. 25 LIVE was a magical mix of aerial and acrobatic mastery set perfectly in sync with the band’s indie rock music.
